Who is the FMO you are under for most of your contracts?

When you say 'most'....which major Medicare companies require agents to contract with a FMO before they can sell their plans? Which ones don't? Do FMOs have to register with any state or government agency that regulates FMOs, or appear in some database that consumers can find? What is the name of your FMO, and the one you are under? A lot of things seem to be kept secret by agents, like how to get licensed and get started in the business. Is it only captive agents who apply directly with insurance companies who get assistance with exam preparation and/or testing fees, or does everyone have to be licensed first before they'll even talk to you? Is there a website anywhere that rates FMOs, like 5-star, 4-star, 3-star etc., the way Medicare plans are rated? Do you have a website where agents can go to sign up or get information about your FMO and see sample contracts? Do FMOs typically contract with anyone who wants to join them? What's their recruiting process like? Where do they go to find agents? Surely not everyone who wants to contract is accepted, are they? Including beginners who couldn't sell water in the desert? Is there a fee to join and/or stay with a FMO? Do the good producers have it spelled out in their contract how much marketing help dollars will come their way? Can a person sell just one company's plans during the day, such as Humana over the phone, or walk-in 'meetings, ' specifically for Humana only, then go do presentations in the evening somewhere and sell whatever plans they want? I'll see AARP 'meetings' listed on their website with specific agents, during a specific days and times, like 11 am to 7 pm at some storefront, or with a table set up somewhere, but yet they sound like independent agents, or they will call themselves 'brokers' when there aren't really any brokers, just agents who are independent.
