What if Germany 'Won' The Battle of Jutland

For the first Alternate History scenario, we have a mini-scenario. Jutland. The greatest clash of battleships and the last of the great gun duels. Often pointed at in World War One alternate histories. But, really, could Germany have won the battle? And even if they had...would it change all that much?

But HMS Vanguard was at Jutland ! She was a St. Vincent class Dreadnought which exploded in Scapa Flow in 1917.

Although Beatty was a terrible fighting admiral, he was a very good political admiral.
As 1st sealord he did see the RN through what would be its darkest hours in the early 1920s,
and actually be around to see the Nelsons started, built and commissioned something that would later prove invaluable, as well as being present for the negotiation of the Washington Naval Treaty. which would leave Britain as a leading naval power.
That said, Jutland would have gone quite differently *if* he hadn't been present.

I really like the video

Who knows maybe the pommern has some people survive as it might be less dangerous to rescue survivors with a damaged royal navy

Lovely video! I appreciate the focus on individual ships and the realistic take on the outcome.

If the Germans had won at Jutland they would have won World War One. Churchill was right when he observed that Jellicoe was the only man on both sides who could have lost the war in an afternoon. If the Germans had decisively defeated the Royal Navy, the British Isles could have been comprehensively blockaded by the High Seas Fleet. England would also have been open to invasion. Without naval superiority the British would not have been able to continue the war.

I like simple ideas, like if blucher was in the med, and still got to Constantinople ( I know, the Goeben was faster, Blucher might not make it ). Then at Dogger Bank, no German ship was lost, so you had Goeben at Jutland.

With beatty in charge its a wonder they didn't.the man was a fool .he chose flag signals over more modern means of communication. He chose rapid fire over safty .he neglected the 4 most powerful ships in the world which he had at his disposal. The man was an idiot

"There must be something wrong with our ships today" as another battlecruiser goes up in a very loud bang and smoke cloud.

I could imagine if there was heavier losses there would be a upgraded larger and maybe double admiral class possibly effecting ww2

What was Germany going to do with a smaller and battered fleet trying to break out the Royal navy Blockade or set one up of their own along with the German U Boats?. The British had answers for all the possible German later actions, eventually taking back control of the North Sea anyway. And the U.S> was going to enter war as well.

Best case for the Germans would be an even higher British dud shell rate, and defective ordinance causing lots on in battery detonations, and ships colliding and sinking in the confusion.

Germany did win Jutland on the sea.Later they gave Britain as big victory by hardly going out.Big flaw trying to protect their fleet.

When you consider Jutland was a tactical draw.

Now, i admit i havent watched the video yet, but due to the title i assume you either think it was a draw or a british victory, it wasnt. Allthough numerically smaller the German force inflicted heavy losses on the british, losing less ships, way less tonnage and way less men. People say it was a draw because strategically it didnt change anything, which is correct, but the big tactical victory brought the Germans and British a little more on even fotting. I think the Germans should have exploited this victory and tried again to force a decisive battle, which they would have maybe again won, since not only the loser learns. Maybe thats what you said in the vid, but good day to you
