The Sony BRAVIA Theater Quad speaker system delivers expansive surround sound from four speakers you can place just about anywhere in your room. No need to run signal wires, no need to find the right placement for larger speakers and stands, just hook it up and let its calibration do the rest.

This is the latest and greatest of something Sony popularized many years ago: the "home theater in a box." The Bravia Theater Quad fits that perfectly: four small, easy-to-place speakers plus a box that plugs into your TV and communicates with them wirelessly. In the end, you get surround sound that fits almost any room without standing out.

Sony's room correction makes it all work. The speakers are thin and can be placed in the odd arrangements our rooms often force upon us. They need to be plugged in for power, but that's it — no signal wires needed. You can place the speakers on shelves, even mount them on the wall with included hardware. Once they're in place, turn on the Sony app and let it conform the sound to your space.

The results are very pleasing. Surround sound fills the area around and above you and expands out far from your TV, so everyone in the room can hear Dolby Atmos or DTS:X effects. And Sony BRAVIA TV owners can unlock a cool trick, using their TV's speakers as a dedicated center channel in the Theater Quad surround system.

While the Quad speakers do an admirable job at reproducing low frequencies, we couldn't help but want a little more low end for home theater purposes. Sony offers two compact wireless subs that pair with the BRAVIA Theater Quad system:

If you want surround sound that is easy to set up and blends in well with the decor of any room, take a look at the Sony BRAVIA Theater Quad surround sound system.

0:38 Good job placing an upfiring speaker in the cabinet.

The right side speakers are not placed correctly, the speakers should not be put inside a cabinet. This is stated in the product user guide, it obstructs the sound from the top speaker.

Great video! I want to purchase.
2 questions:
Can the base station be placed in the rear of the room, instead of the front? (my AV sources are in the rear of the room)

Do the speakers need line-of-sight to the base station?

The Bravia tv speakers are supposed to be the fifth speaker, it act as the center surround.

For people who don't want to run wire? Now you have to run four power wires instead of four speaker wires. 😂😂😂 I live in an apartment in NYC, which only has one power outlet in the living room. Imagine running extension cabes everywhere? 😂😂😂

As usual, Sony does not offer a real product unless you buy Sony throughout. Not being able to use my 85 inch OLED as a center speaker is crap. I stopped the video at that point. Sony TV are always a step behind the Samsung.
