I have a feeling that they’re going to make the Switch successor about as powerful as the Steam Deck. And, as someone with a Switch and a Steam Deck and loves both, a hybrid Nintendo system with that power, DLSS, AND backward compatibility would be unstoppable. Especially if that backward compatibility offers improvements on performance and, if patched, improved graphics and new features.

even though the switch is phenomenally underpowered, it still can run MK11, Bright Memory Infinite, Immortals Fenyx Rising, BoTW, Crysis, i think we’re fine on power for now

I hope the new chip does not do 4K but improve how the games run. Personally I cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 4K anyways but would love an improvment when it comes to pop in and stuff like that.

2 things... 1 we don't really now how much more powerful it would be, as it would be a purpose built chip for the device. Meaning we may never actually know all of the capabilities of the chip. The Tegra T239 on the other hand follows the Nintendo approach they took for the original switch. Repurposing pre-existing silicon that was at the time of its launch was fairly cutting edge.
2, honestly the T239 would put the raw performance roughly on par with a ps4 slim, then when you include technologies like FSR, and DLSS the chip could easily punch above its weight class. So I think the T239 is more likely as it would be more cost effective, and easier to work with as there's comprehensive literature on the architecture of the T239 and its possible capabilities opposed to using a brand new piece of cutting edge silicon which would require developers to learn how it runs and executes programs and the api in question, plus the 5LPP chip would be quite a bit more expensive opposed to using parts nvidia has chilling on the shelf. Shader count numbers also aren't equal. A GTX 750 ti gets blown away by a GTX 1050 2gb, and they have the exact same cuda count. 128 maxwell shader cores would get smoked by 128 pascal cores due to architectual differences, and that's fine. The original switch on paper is actually not much more capable than a Wii U, but punches well above the Wii U's performance due to clever developing and use of technologies not available to the previous generation. So PS4 level performance might sound terrible, it's best to remember that ps4 still in some instances has some stunning looking games even in 2023

PS4 type power in a Switch I think is amazing. Very excited to see what is going to come for the new console and I will definitely be getting it if that's the case.

Bus width is literally the most important feature. It doesn’t matter how performant a chip is if the bus is narrow with low travel speeds. Consider a Civic on a wide open highway with no traffic vs a Ferrari in gridlock. The Civic wins. This is the advantage of a wide and more performant bus. Less bottlenecking of performance.

That applies to building your own PC. Bus speed IS your performance. Always choose better bus and more ram over fastest cpu. The cpu speed almost doesn’t matter if the bus can’t handle it.

The new Switch 2 will be more powerful than even the new RTX 4090 for gaming PC's! Here is a look at the specs...

It's reported that when testing the new hardware, the visuals were so instense that one game tester became legally blind. A game tester for Nintendo, Brad taylor, said in an interview,

''Well, this new tech is way ahead of it's time. We continue to work on safety surrounding the game devs and testers, due to the advanced graphics which we're not sure the world is ready for.''

In fact, the visuals are so intense, that Nintendo has joined forces with NASA to produce special glasses, that will protect the eyes of gamers while playing. We're not sure at the moment if these glasses will be separate or packaged in with the Switch 2.

The new system will come with warning labels letting consumers know the various side effects of viewing graphics as real as life itself. Some of these include...

-Mild bleeding out the eyes
-Light headed
-Sever headaches, some cases leading to instant death
-Psychosis, leading to a belief that the game world is real life
-Partial or full blindness
-A desire to crap your pants

Let’s be real! A PS5 is huge due to the need for a massive heat sink! So if we wanted a switch that would run like a PS5, it wouldn’t fit in a suitcase never mind a handbag! The switch is amazing because it’s portable! And Nintendo always has a fantastic extra surprise anyway! A new way to play or better joycons, AI ! Nintendo do something no one else can, they make the best handheld system out there!

Again, I would pay 💰 $400 plus tax $450 for a very high end Nintendo Switch console. Anything below that price point means the system is going too just lackluster and a step backwards. To all the shareholders it’s time for y’all too force Nintendos hand to no longer just go with the belief that customers won’t pay for the higher price point system. We have been saying for decades we would pay more for a stronger any type of Nintendo system, plus y’all have 3 systems right now at great price points for every Nintendo consumer and with this truly very high end very powerful Nintendo Switch you would cater too the true video game hardcore fans. Like people who play on the high end PlayStation systems and X Box’s.

Theoretically, more bus width expands the lanes between the GPU and vRAM for more calls between the two. Though that doesn't always account for more speed of the flash storage. The wider bus could be there to compensate for underclocked performance.

If Nintendo keep making games for Switch until 2024 then Switch 2 is only an upgrade, add another model to the Switch family (maybe more power or just added some features like DLLS)
But no Switch games beyond 2023 annouce yet.
