How were the Teletubbies created? - BBC World Service

It’s 1994 and the BBC is looking for a new children’s TV series.

TV producer Anne Wood decides she’s going to make a show aimed at an audience that’s never had programmes made for it before – two and three-year-olds.

She tells the fascinating story of how spacemen and technology inspired the creation of one of the most popular kids TV shows of all time, Teletubbies.

In Ireland does have of Teletubbies Land heritage map, include of Cuilcagh, Tipperary Hill, Kilkenny, and Wexford. The Ragdoll can be restored of Teletubbies Hill areas in Ireland 🇮🇪

In Algeria I remember about 50 middle aged men sitting in a cafe in rows watching Teletubbies back in 1999 simply because of the colors it had in such a colorless city.

It was a big hit back in the days when i was in the kindergarten, being a daily dose of show for me and most of the children around me. The clothes, toys, dolls, and other kids things got to be in Telletubbies vibes. Even Po's scooter went viral

I thought teletubbies was a realistic cartoon and I never knew there was a slide because I watched the Cbeebies Version and I don’t think there even was a slide but now when I’m 9 years old but back then I was like… 3? Or maybe 2? Idk but yeah, now that I’m 9 I realised teletubbies was actually real, but the teletubbies were people in costumes and when I was 3 under or over except 9 I thought they were real creatures but I’m still kinda a teletubbies fan because they’re just so cute! And funny! And their theme song from 1997 is pretty awesome and the guitar at the start of the song? BEST BIT!!
