The first time I ever heard this song, was visiting my grandad in hospital when I was a young kid. It was late 80s and my Mum put the bedside headphones on me as I was playing up and being a little shlt. I was maybe 6 or 7, it was Chapel Allerton Hospital in Leeds and my Grandad was very poorly. Back then, I didn't understand the song but liked it, and now when I hear it, it takes me back to that day, not realising that 3 decades later I'd hear it and think of my grandad, miss him and wish I'd not created when he was so poorly. He passed away on 28th November 1995 at the age of 66.

This one's for you Grandad Alex, I know you're up there with Grandma and Stuart. I only knew you for 11 years, but even now when I think of you and how you'd hook my leg with your walking stick when I tried turning the TV over from racing or football, I smile with pride.

Fly high, I'm sure we'll get to have a pint in heaven one day ❤
