Nice talk. One thing left out (among a few others smaller ones) is the automated testing that is also done in prod. The same set of tests that are run before the prod deployment is also run in each region in prod after that region's deployment (perhaps even after each 1Box or AZ deployment). There are small differences (configuration values, capacities etc) in prod from non-prod environments that it makes is very useful to run the same tests in production as well before going to the next region. Also canaries, (which was touched upon a little bit) run functional tests over and over again 24x7 on all prod regions and will alert oncall if the canaries fail. This especially helps covering those niche features that only some customers are using or or used only sometimes such that it does not get enough traffic so the canary acting as a real customer helps cover those.
