West Coast IPAs have been around for over 20 years, but a lot of the new ones are much less bitter, more aromatic, and brewed with a modern touch. Josh Pfriem explains the subtle differences between IPA styles, a brief history, and a look into the future of West Coast IPA.

If you want the clear character of an American IPA but crave the fruitiness of the Hazy IPAs, we highly recommend grabbing a pFriem West Coast IPA.

The modern west coast IPA made actually start drinking IPAs after 20 years+ of avoiding them. The less bitter character really was the key. The standard pfriem IPA makes me think “modern “ even if a decade old. I’d love to see pfriem do a double dry hopped at some point.

West Coast IPA = IPA.
Pallet Jack, OG Laurelwood Workhorse, Boneyard RPM, Pliny the Elder. These are IPA's.
