Meh... Still excited for the $99 Epiphone Les Paul SL though!

Hope you don’t mind me being “that guy” but should you really be comparing a budget $250 guitar with an $800 model? What is it’s quality compared to similar priced guitars?

A reviewer who gives an actual review instead of just playing for ten minutes and then asking for a like. I'm definitely subbed, and thanks for the tip about the Harley Benton, I'd forgotten about them!

Those knobs are better than the ones on the new Gibson's, so it's got that going!

Man lets be real I'm in my mid 40's and remember what beginner guitars use to be like and this is a dream guitar compared to the first POS I had ( that I loved by the way ) all that to say this bro most people buying this guitar don't have the knowledge you have or experience therefore they won't compare this model to a higher priced ( better quality ) model. Also I can't think of many out the box guitars that don't need a setup and new strings just saying that is my experience. I have played this guitar model and no it's the same quality as higher priced guitars however it's solid for a person that is still learning and if you have never played or owned a nicer guitar you won't miss the quality you never had. Just my opinion

This model is so underrated. I'd have it over a Les Paul Studio.

So here's the funny thing. If you listen to this outside of the context of both your reviews and compared to other guitars in general, I think it sounds fine. In a live band played through one of the amps that you use, I doubt anyone in the audience would call you out. The subtle differences are super-magnified by your audience, and they absolutely should be in this group, but the big picture differences are harder to validate.

Which is why I really appreciate the other parts of your review. I think the fact that you are able to play and that you are comfortable with the song masks some of the guitar's sonic flaws. But when you point out high action and terrible hardware, well, that's good enough for me to give it a pass when there are other options in this price range. Thanks.

It sounds amazing, not sure how it got a thumbs down in the tone department (as far as distortion goes, clean it sounds really uninspiring). Also looks wise, it is just WOW.

I have a few high end epiphones and after watching this I bought one in cherry sunburst and to be honest it’s not a bad guitar for the price it plays well and does have some negatives but the pros such as price looks and all round playability out way the cons

Thanks for the honest review. There are so many reviewer's who say guitars are great when they suck just so they can get free geat from companies or make money. Glad you haven't sold out and give real opinions!

I’m not sure if they’ve addressed the issues you mention; I just picked up a brand new one today, and I think it’s amazing. I’ll give you that the hardware is a little jank, but the pickups sound amazing through my Line 6 spider valve, and their weren’t any intonation or action issues at all out of the box. I was looking for just a cheap jam guitar, and this is definitely it.

Man I bought one 2 years ago and just now stumbled upon this video. I wish mine had that half assed attempt at an access cutaway. It's probably still better than the solid block that mine has

I personally like the sound of this guitar my friend has one and I played it and loved it

Sounds like the playability issues can definitely be fixed by a simple set-up. Epiphones are always completely completely out of whack when they come out the box. A bit of a shame for the tuners.

I just picked up one of these. EPIPHONE less Paul studio LT Guitars for $100 used. It is perfect. It is so perfect that I really didn’t check it out and try it before I handed the guy the cash. We met at a halfway point gas station/convenience store. When you open the case, I saw how perfect it was and I just handed the money over. It’s got a carved top. And it certainly looks like a beautiful piece of wood, but it also looks like it is just contact paper almost it is so perfect, like a piece of vinyl. I don’t know how they get them so beautiful…
So I get it home, and I tuned it, started playing it. I wished I would have played it when I first saw it because I don’t like it. I knew within two seconds I did not like how wide the neck is. I’ve had it for over a week now and I still have not plugged it in to one of my amps. I’m gonna try setting it up first. The action is not too high, it has new strings on it. They feel like they might be thicker than tens. That could be the problem. I am used to nines. So I will check the radius, I will check the internation which can be changed on this, I will lubricate the nut with graphite or a drop of oil. I see no fret wear. I can’t tell what the fingerboard is made of, it does not look like Rosewood. Maybe that’s part of what I don’t like about the feel. If I was in a guitar shop looking to buy this guitar new, I would know within five seconds that I was not gonna buy it no matter how fantastic it looks.
I actually love my Epiphone Les Paul special with P90s flat black, nothing special, no binding on the neck or body, not even a pick guard. But it sounds great with those P 90s to me, and the action on the neck is so much better than this studio LT. The neck is not as wide, it just feels right immediately. I even tried one of those TV yellow epiphone Guitars with 2P 90s. It has two tone and two volume controls. It has binding on the neck, and it does not have the wraparound bridge set up. It has the tail piece with the tuna Matic bridge. I knew immediately I did not like that guitar either as much as my two pick up single tone, single volume control flat black Epiphone special that I picked up for $75 a few years ago off of craigslist used. I like it better, not even close.
Of course the studio LT is a gorgeous looking guitar and it has two humbuckers.. but I realized about 10 years ago that I prefer the sound of P90s..
One day, I realized that, I swapped many of my guitars for other guitars that have P 90s. Jazz Masters have P90, my gibson 1963/330 has P90s, my Epiphone 56 gold top has P 90s, my gibson Les Paul classic Ebony has P90s, my newest guitar, a D Angelica deluxe has special pick ups that can be switched with a six way switch on the guitar from HB, to coil tapped, to P 90s, and I prefer the P90 setting.
I love how the P90 have a growl to them ..
I realize that everyone has a right to their wrong opinion. And my opinion is, I prefer the bargain basement priced Epiphone less Paul special with P90, over this Epiphone studio LT with the HB pick ups, no matter how pretty the studio is over the basic flat black LP special
