I love crystals, not because their “healing powers.” it’s because their shiny and fun.

Who would have guessed having someone calmly speak to you, provide a comfortable environment, and caringly touch you would make you feel happy?

As a primary school teacher, I spend alot (ALOT) of time teaching kids how to spot fallacies. I consider it to be the first line of defence to bullshit (like this).

To quote Professor Dave: "There are no organisms made of 100% silicon. If something is made of 100% silicon, IT IS SILICON."

I was waiting for surgery on a cyst in my hand. My colleague wanted me to put a crystal in my pocket. I humoured him. He was shocked the next day when I still had my cyst. I was bewildered that an educated person could be so dim.

Can't we just appreciate the beauty and mystery of crystals? Or the excitement of finding these gems?

LSD is a white crystal with a melting point of approximately 85 C. and a molar mass of 323.440 g/mol . I have found the LSD crystal to have definite healing properties when placed gently on the tongue.

The placebo effect reminds me of a story from Untold Stories of the ER. A patient came in with abdominal pain, and the ER doc diagnosed it as some ailment that would need to be treated at the hospital. The patient believed that her ailment was caused by a curse and refused treatment until she could be sure that the curse was lifted; she believed that as long as the curse was in effect, any medical treatment would fail. The ER doc ultimately called in a witch doctor of the patient’s religion so that an curse-breaking ritual could be formed. After the ritual, the patient accepted medical treatment. The woman more than likely wasn’t cursed, but since she believed she was, the witch doctor became an important part of her treatment plan.

Let’s call these people for what they really are, they are charlatans and liars and they take advantage of vulnerable people who as a result, suffer more from their illness or die.

I’m glad there are people like you putting these people in their place and educating people at the same time. Kudos.

Just hit the 30 second point. My guess is that the reason people believe in it is because when in a meditative state, the mind is able to think more and process what is bothering you and how to fix it

Fun fact, some rocks actually do have auras. It's just that those rocks are radioactive, and their aura is death.
