Covered calls are one of the top strategies for making passive income. I sell covered calls all of the time to make $500 a day or more. It's the best passive income investment and startegy along with the wheel.

Great video. How do you find good stocks to sell CCs on?

Great video! I have been doing the wheel strategy with SPY selling puts at a desired entry price and selling calls at a price above my cost basis. This is a high percentage win strategy. However, I have been experimenting with credit call bear spreads where it allows me to sell calls and collect premium without putting up shares for collateral (covering the call). By buying a call at a slightly higher strike price and selling one at th lower strike, same expiration date, allows me to collect a premium and benefit if the price of the underlying security stays below the strike price and expires worthless. but I do not need to own 100 shares of the underlying security. However, I am primarily generating income with my covered call in SPY rolling them out for a credit if the market moves against me in the short term since I do not wish to be assigned, disrupting my buy and hold strategy.

I sell cov calls on avgo, visa, aapl, and ibm. Do you recommend avoiding any cover car positions during X dividend months? Thanks for all your input – really enjoy your videos

I do puts on AMZN. Good premium and I believe its low enough right now. I would like to know more about rolling up and down. I never really roll my positions, but I have friend who love to roll. I thought it was best to just get assigned the shares when I do puts (if against me) then do a call. Few weeks ago I did a put and got assigned then did the calls and loss the shared at $2 higher, but made the extra $200 plus the premiums. I thought it was a good week. What the big advantage in rolling up and down?

This is one of the first strategies that made sense to me and one of the first ones that also seems to be fairly foolproof. The other is cash covered puts.

As I see it, the overall concept of the covered call strategy is, if you own a security that also has options trading on it, if the price is currently lower than what you bought the security for, you can use covered calls to "make up" the lost value of the security, while it is down. If you do the trades right, you can get continuous income despite your losses or even while you have losses in the stock market.

Anyone, do correct me if I am wrong. (I'm admittedly learning all this currently).

You put out some good quality explanations and sensible trading strategies. I have seen an occasional video where we catch a glimpse of a spreadsheet you use to track cost basis in your options strategy. Would it be possible to do a video reviewing how you track your cost basis and determine how your overall positions on a stock has worked out over the month(s)/year(s). I would love to see a scrubbed/fresh spreadsheet or potentially a download. Any chance of a video on this?

Great Video Henry! When doing Covered calls on Dividend stocks do you close your position 2 days prior to the Ex dividend date to capture your dividend pay out? I wasn't sure if Heinz pay Dividend before July or not.

Great video. Do you have a strategy for a stock bought over the course of some time at much higher prices (e.g. BABA, COIN, JPM etc.) than it is trading presently? Thanks

Henry, I've been thinking about a strategy of when a stock has a dividend coming up on this Friday to sell a call credit spread because we know that 99% of the time Scott stocks go down on the ex dividend day Period Let me know what you think
