Asbjørn - The Love You Have In You (Pride Night Live)

Показать описание
Asbjørn performs 'The Love You Have In You' at Pride Night Live.
"The first years of my career I was constantly told by music industry people, that there was no market for “a man like me” in popmusic. Not totally sure whether they meant the gay thing, my weirdo dancing or the fact that I don’t sound like something that already exists. I started my own label so I could live out all the above and more.
“The Love You Have In You” is the first song I ever released, in which I put gender on my love. It reached further than any of my music had done before, connected me to a worldwide audience who started using my music to create safe spaces in places that weren’t. That alone was worth being on the outside of the pop world looking in - cos I wasn’t standing alone.
The music industry has changed since then. Those bosses might still feel threatened but they know that queer music is in demand. They know broad representation is good business. Too many musicians have proved them wrong and the people standing on the outside before, are now re-shaping the core of pop culture. Slowly but surely.
Happy Pride Month. It’s working.
x Asbjørn"
