Good stuff. Drug runners crossing the border on foot make over shoes out of thick carpet to reduce and conceal their tracks. Carpet and duct tape... pretty cheap and easy tool.

I have an ESEE 6 in my Get Home or Bug Out bag. And I would bring along a Transfers Bruks Small Forest Axe. It will take me 5 - 7 days by foot to get if cars are not running. My question is that to much? 3 liter water and food inside my Kelta 3500.

I'm noticing that there seems to be a tradeoff between proper countertracking technique and speed.
How do you feel about that balance? At what point does masking your sign become not worth the amount it may slow your down? What scenarios may influence the emphasis on either speed, or stealth?

How likely is a potential enemy to use dogs to track you, and how effective are they, really? Are these same anti-tracking effective against them, as well?

I guess I'm thinking of the movies where they bring in bloodhounds to track escaped prisoners and how realistic that is.
