I’m so pleased to have found your channel!
I was a classically trained singer when I was younger. I miss doing sight reading and it seems that I’m really rusty!! I started out playing piano really young and then as I was preparing for my Grade 1 piano and was practicing singing for the singing bit with my teacher and she almost fell off her stool. Begged my parents to teach me and then took me around the uk. I gave up when I went to Uni at 19 and haven’t done it since. Plus my 13 year old isn’t a fan!! But it’s nice to see and hear it all again.

I liked singing all my life, but I could take singing lessons just 4 years ago (I´m 54). I´m happy for learning technike in order to enjoy singing, managing high notes, volume, etc. Next step: learning to read/sing musical sheet. It´s never too late to enjoy learning. A whole life dream come true.
Listening bel canto is like taste a little piece of paradise.

I had to sight read for an audition with the Bach Society. The director didn't laugh, I think he just wanted to know that I could read music. lol

I've played piano and recently taught myself singing. Never have i ever been able to grasp sight reading even with years of piano lessons. I'm like the Beatles, it's just a bunch of "black dots on paper" bc I've always played by ear AND clearly i do the same with singing.
