I will never forget her story. I think it was in Esquire magazine and my mom gave it to me the summer before I started college. These stories were so common in the late 90s and early 2000s. A few girls I grew up with went to prison, lost their kids, became addicts, all following behind these boyfriends. Kemba is now a motivational speaker, and my sorority sister! She had a much happier ending than most.

I remember when this happened. I was 7 yrs old. My parents were always talking about it. And my Dad even bought a book about her story, and the Jet/ Ebony magazines. I’m glad her story had a happy ending!!

I love that they’re doing this. I read about her story when I was young in a magazine called Emerge.

I remember seeing her story on an episode of “For My Man” or another show. I can’t remember it that’s the right one or not, but I think it is.

How well do I remember this story!!! Kemba's mom was my typing teacher at J FK High School in Richmond. I don't think there was a dry eye at school that day. I am so glad Mrs You got your baby back home with you❤❤😂😂 JFK 1973

Wow! This is so emotional for me, for I share the same story 😢 minus all the prison time. But I wonder how many more like us have went through this over something we had absolutely nothing to do with 🤷‍♀️ idk but this is giving this tarot reader who's silent about her personal life the courage to speak up/out instead of being embarrassed or feeling like a failure. So thank you Kemba for your truths I will be watching and crying I'm sure.😭

I remember when this went down n my city Hampton VA. The streets were crazy then, n the yayo was A1. Unique flooded our streets n was bout that action too. Sad what happened to Kemba tho. Glad she made it out n got her story heard. Salute to Kemba n all the other queens that went down n stood tall for the stuff there men did.

I remember reading this and my mom who was a high school teacher at the time telling me a lot of young girls in her school are heading in her route. Scared the 💩 out of me. Momma didn't have to worry abt me and any boys after that.
