Cheap witchy home makeover | How to create magical space in your house

Today I am giving parts of my home a witchy makeover. I decided to create three designated areas of magical space: my witchy apothecary and study, where I do most of my witchcraft-related reading, my bath - to transform it into a ritual area for grounding bath - and cleansing rituals, and last but not least, my balcony, which I will transform into a meditation space and celestial sanctuary. While you can enjoy watching me work on this cheap witchy makeover on a budget, I will give you tips on how you can create magical space in your home too, especially uif you don't want to spend (much) money.
Personally, I am not necessarily into the modern witch aesthetic, but prefer more of a colorful, cozy atmosphere in the living areas, and a clean and nature-focused design in the private areas of my witch's cottage. How would you makeover your home into a witchy sanctuary or what areas of your house do you mostly do your spellcraft and rituals in?

To get the residue from labels off a jar, put on a teaspoon of vegetable oil and about a tablespoon of salt and scrub with steel wool. It gets off the adhesive without being toxic like Goo Gone.

I finally feel comfortable enough to spread my witchy space across the whole home.
My beautiful husband and I designed a wildflower fairy garden at the back of our garden. We also have space for growing herbs, fruit and veg. Inside the kitchen is filled with herbs, then I have an antique dresser filled with jars and bottles of spell ingredients. Our ancestral altar is there also.
Our front hall has a huge chest which is stuffed with everything I’ve made to sell and more spell supplies. I burn incense here and keep an antique bowl and jug for washing before I create sacred space.
I have little pops of magic all over our house too. Shells, wind chymes, etc.

I recently restrung and hung my senbazuru (1000 paper cranes) after reworking its intention to match life in my new home. <3 Since I now live alone, I consider my entire space sacred, and rather than trying to make room for another to come in (which left both my home and my soul feeling a bit empty in my old home), I now try to fill the space entirely with my own spirit.

I let myself explore my "tacky" tastes, like a love of stylized and sugar skulls, lots of scented oils and candles (with no one else to complain!) and suncatchers casting rainbows all over my room just before sunset. On my altar I keep a whole collection of cast-off feathers from local hawks, crows, and other birds, and I've turned a lovely painted bento box that I never otherwise had the chance to use into storage for many of my magickal spell ingredients.

My living room is now my witchy space and witch working space. I am big on spaces that are nice t just for sitting so I combine intentions in a room. Luckily my family supports this space and they like to come craft with me. I finally got to making a new book of shadows inspired by your video on this topic. Love that video. I'm happy to have my own witchy room in the basement of our house which functions also as a craftroom. But it has a big altar that I redecorate for each Sabbat and Esbat. I also love to reuse or repurpose things that were not specifically witchy. But I also love to imbue the rest of our living space with some witchy/pagan vibes, although I'm a bit more careful there, cause there are some hardcore Christians in the family of my husband. But nonetheless I have some goddess wall hangings on display openly and block any uncomfortable conversation with mythology knowledge when the relatives come for a visit.😁 Thank you for all the great tips in your video.

I love how you said that spaces can be magical even if they don't fit the typical witch aesthetic. I'm Hispanic so I love incorporating Spanish decor into my space. It may not look as witchy as some pinterest photos out there but it makes me happy so I don't mind! I also only work with greek deities so my home has ended up having a general Mediterranean vibe as opposed to anything else haha.

I have a little corner for the "witchy bookcase" myself (covered with some fairy lights to make it more magical), since in the first place I'm rather about reading and learning things than doing some rituals and so on. For now I have one shelf for books (can't wait to collect some more!) and cards, second for my grimoire, an empty box and a roe's skull, third for things with animals important to me (like figurines or plushies) and the last for a box full of papers and document sleeves for my grimoire. And since the bookcase is rather short, I'm using the top of it as a shelf (or kinda table/altar?) too - a nice tablecloth I made myself, a cork board (with a memo about runes and their meanings, a postcard with an interesting picture and nice bookmarks from my friend), a few sticks shaped as Elhaz rune and a thermos with a constellation print on it. Still need to put my nice rocks somewhere here as well.

My whole apartment is witchy. But more in the direction of nature with branches, herbs and bones. I also have three altars. A natural altar, an ancestral altar and a Cernunnos altar. I will soon completely overhaul the Cernunnos altar in our unused room and make it more beautiful. The room too and it will be even witchier. (Maybe also some hideaways for fairies?)
