Did you use bias or flat darks to calibrate your flats? Were they all temperature, gain, offset matched? According to the math applied for the flat correction, the ADU is irrelevant, as long as you aren't clipping data on either the brights or the shadows. It's just a ratio, and that ratio remains the same regardless if the ADU is 12000 or 32000 or 26385. I've been looking at the 533 mono. Most everyone says I should move up to a 2600 from my 294. However, that would entail an entirely new set of filters, and a new filter wheel. If I went with the 533, I could keep my existing EFW/filters.

I'd love to get my hands on one of these cameras to do a review/comparison to my 294...

Thanks for this review. I purchased the ASI 294 but the 533 was my runner-up. Perhaps when I decide to go mono I will go with the 533.

Thanks. I would like to look at dark noise from different cameras.Does the ASI533MM come with an internal, high resolution, temperature sensor? Even though you are presenting for a commercial firm, adding $Thanks to individual videos - the assumption would be to reward and encourage the presenter. But it is also possible to indicate WHY you like something enough to donate real $$.
