The best thing about Caitlin is not that she shoots extremely well is that she elevates! She also has a significant number of assists in a game and if she is off a bit in her shooting her rebounds go up. She is contributing everywhere on the court. Iowa is number 2 in the country not only because Caitlin can shoot it is because Caitlin has made all the Iowa players around her better! Caitlin cannot win BB games by herself, and she knows that. So, what has she done she elevates her teammates to make plays to win games. Can Caitlin save the WNBA? I don't think Caitlin's teammates will let her. I think she will not be welcomed with open arms, and they won't want to conform to her winning style. So, if Caitlin can win over her team mates, then perhaps, she can elevate them, the team and the WNBA.

She’s a bigger as an individual star than that entire league. No other business in history, other that the US Postal Service, could lose huge amounts of money every year for nearly three decades, have its employees always seeking more money, and still be in business. The common thread between the USPS(the federal government) and the WNBA(the NBA), is they’re both subsidized by another business. She alone can’t save them, even if her regular season games are drawing 3x the eyes to TV than the WNBA Finals games do.

I've watched Clark quite a bit. Never watched the WNBA. I might watch it just to see how she does there.

First, we need to define "saving the WNBA". I mean, if the survival of the WNBA depended on enough people watching the games, it would have been dead a long time ago. It probably would have never gotten off the ground in the first place. The WNBA exists as a charity of the NBA, plain and simple. Could Caitlin Clark make it more watchable and more successful by making it more relatable and more exciting? Absolutely. Could Caitlin Clark turn it into a self-supporting and profitable business? I remain skeptical. As far as the relatability goes, the WNBA - enabled by the NBA paying all of its bills and therefore never having the survival incentive to produce a widely attractive product - has become a niche market for black lesbians. There's nothing wrong with black lesbians and they deserve to have entertainment options just like anyone else, but there's just not enough of them around to support a professional sports league. Period.
