Hi Mark-- People in Louisiana are having a fit over Ian. most of the insurance companies have pulled out of Lousiana since the last two years having all the hurricanes. The insurance companies that have replaced them, have raised the rates so high that nearly no one can afford homeowners insurance. If you have a mortgage that requires insurance, which all do, if you can't pay for insurance you loose your house. I hope we don't get this one!!! People in Louisiana will be sunk!!! Getting heavy rains on and off up in the blue mountain range here in Jamaica. I think the effects of Ian will linger into next week with the feeder bands helping to fan the potential monster storm.

Ike in2008 is another wild example of a huge storm surge from a former major hurricane. Even if Ian does stay away from Tampa area it will still bring high surf and coastal flooding. . This situation is dangerous

The storm is expected to only be a minimal hurricane or tropical storm when it comes ashore according to some sites. It will probably come ashore around Panama City Fl or little east of that area. Going to be strong wind shear ahead of it…..

Hey Mark! I subscribed a few weeks ago and love the work you are doing. Didn’t realize till watching this video that we both live in Wilmington! I told my wife about your channel and she is a science teacher in New Hanover County and would love to have you possibly speak to a class, time permitting of course. Thanks for the info again! We are trying to figure out if we are going to make the trip for the Clemson North Carolina State football game next weekend and are worried about this hurricane up in that area making the game a washout LOL

At first it was supposed to be a cat three hitting southern Florida now it's all the way up into northern Florida and the more and more and more that took place that leaves the storm out into the gulf longer and longer which could mean a stronger storm

It is a roller coaster of emotion with this angle of entry because little changes left or right drastically changes the track. Worried if it rapidly intensifies
