The real reason Durge started killing people was because he got sick of all his friends canceling on him.

My favorite is the intereaction with the fairy from the lantern when you need her to recast her protection on you.

'Now say the magic words!'
>'We're all just puppets in a show that's directed by a madman.' (or something like that)
"You're not supposed to know that!" lmao 😂

A lot of the time it is about consistency. Two ways to deal with this:

- Run the game, even if players are missing. Best case they will feel a bit bad that they missed a session and start making time.
- If you feel uncomfortable with the first one: Do someting on game night no matter what. This way it becomes a habit and people won't make free time for nothing.

We play for 3 years now alternating between 2 main campaigns. Currently a player (that was sadly one of the focus characters in my campaign) had some stuff going on, so we play a few oneshots in between. And If his stuff keeps us from playing. His story arc will be on hold. Btw best tipp to keep the game going. Never make one character the focus for an arc. This is something that can be the best way to play tabletop, if everybody is 100% committed, but if you have flakers dont.

Every experienced DM and Player knows... The greatest boss and bbeg of every D&D game isnt gonna be a dragon, or some mega-necromancer... No. It's the SCHEDULING BOSS. CR 9001.

I'd say it's less "make fun of" and more "laughing at the shared pain"

As a W.O.W. Raid leader of ten years. This is so true, getting 20-40 people together at the same time is the hardest boss.

...It's times like this that I remember my group is abnormal. We've been on a consistent schedule for... three years now?
