Again, Sam has done an exceptionally good job!

It's evident that the government officials also do not fully understand the new funding model. I'm not even sure if a model changes anything, just disburse more money to universities if the previous amount was objectively not enough 🤷 The more complicated we make things, the less useful they become.

A former student at jkuat back in 2011, the cut off point by then was a B+, there were many and many thousands of students under parallel programmes, they misused the resources at that time there was no progress in terms of infrastructure now they are crying foul that there are not getting resources

My brother has 4 children, he is the sole breadwinner of the family. He got in a car accident a few years ago and hos life changed completely. Getting help for his kids school with school or anything is a nightmare. The people determining who qualifies for help said that our parents had an ok life raising us so much my brother was not eligible

You raise an important point about the nuances of means-tested benefits and welfare systems. The age of the applicant cannot indeed influence eligibility and the level of support provided, the test should consider the household income, including parents or guardians should be factored in the process.

Population living below poverty line index in kenya is about 40% .wouldn't band1 be related to this index as a starting point.

Ndegwa is lying. My sister in law does not even know KRA.She does not work, does not have any business, lives from hand to mouth and her daughter has been given band 4.

Statistical tools are as good as the user. When you apply the tools wrongly, you get wrong answers. If Ndegwa correctly used those tools, why were many students placed in wrong bands.
