Wait... hold up... SCIENTIST TRAITS INCREASE THE CHANCES OF BEING ABLE TO FIND A TECH AS A RESEARCH OPTION??? (Played a good 1000 hours without knowing this)

Not only are my paperwork slaves going to spend their entire lives double and triple stamping interstellar insurance policies while under martial law, they're never going to step foot on a world I did not create to maximize their suf- productivity. Productivity.

If you're doing habitats it's always better to do the shared burden civic because communal housing is much better than paradise dome. Paradise dome gemerate more amenities but that's useless considering you are going to build a specialized amenities building anyways and it offers little housing compared to communal housing.

Playing a habit origin start and it took me a lot of trial and error to learn how to manage them. Luckily I had a size 20 Gaia world nearby to act as a place to grow food and as a spot to stick the extra pops.
This guide was pretty helpful though! Thankyou!

An important aspect you didn't talk about is the special resources, especially the single (1) crystal/gas/mote planets. With a habitat, you can put a special refiner on that habitat and increase the output of that 1 special significantly. I build my refinery worlds on these habitats, playing as voidborne and it's well worth planning your habitats around the resources.

The most efficient way to use habitats is actually to care less about housing. The penalty for housing shortage is actually quite tame as long as you have enough houses for 2/3 of your pops. At that level, stability will be lower by 13% which represents a 8% penalty to job production (which will get substracted from your other bonuses).

Maybe I missed it in the video, but I don't think you mentioned one of the most important habitat features, which is their interaction with Strategic Resources. If you build a Habitat over Crystals, Motes, or Gases, you can build a number of those special mining buildings corresponding to the amount of resources that a mining station would produce. So Habitats let you turn 2 Motes into 2 Mote _Harvesters_, giving double the yield even before you add in pop production bonuses.

I started playing Stellaris like a week ago (this quarantine has me fucking BORED) and your videos are helping me tremendously. I would have zero idea what I am doing. Now I have like one idea what I am doing.

Thank you Sir

they still feel like they need 2 extra districts and more of the tech and traditions need to affect them if u take habitat origins none of the city district tech affects them, the expansion bonus doesnt work, neither does mastery of nature although that makes sense, and the 2 traditions in prosperity don't affect them. Thats alot of useless things for a habitat start. I also think if u build a habitat over a colonizable planet u should be able to build food districts. Oh and the voidborne ascension perk should give the 2 extra districts they feel like they need instead of the extra habitability when u have the void dweller origin cus u dont need the extra habitability
