Yamaha 30 HP on Jon boat. Lake test.

87 Yamaha 30 HP, short shaft, 13 pitch aluminum propeller. Boat was 1448 Lowe flat bottom Jon with 3 batteries placed on front. Without batteries it was unrideable. Not the best match for this light weight boat. Propeller was brand new but cheap $60 one, with extra thick blades. With any 13 P SS prop speed would be about 2-4 MPH higher.

Scooting along pretty good ! I just got my first boat. 1973 Rich line GF16. It's rated for a 35hp. It came with a 76 Johnson 25 electric start. I have to go through it and replace what needs ! The compression is good so worth bringing back to life. I hope to pull 20+ mph out of it. Will be my first ever build.

I had the 1988 SG30 short shaft with ss prop on a 14-48 Starcraft modified V and that thing would outrun the 60 HP mercury powered boats in my area!
