I need this frequency of the watercolor news in my life <3 I know usually there's not much to talk about but if theres anything I would love it to be more frequent thing!

Hi! The palette of cesc farre was a special edition to be sold only in artemiranda (hugely popular Spanish art store), together with some other Spanish stores, and ocean grey was the special color Cesc designed for that palette. It has not been sold outside of Spain before, so that’s why you haven’t seen it much :). In Spain some stores had it, and it was already while ago sold out. Now I guess it’s gonna spread more widely.

The pigments are PB29, PBK6, PG50 if anyone wants to play with the combo. Also Cheap Joes in the US just started carrying the 5ml sample sets of the Schmincke supergranulating paints, which as far as I know were only available at Jackson's previously. I've seen a few special palettes that I could never find.. some were released for special events..some seem to only be released in certain areas. Roman Szmal had one that was given out as a promotion.. it's a five pan but a completely different selection of colors from the one they have for sale. I also saw a special Van Gogh palette based off old masters limited palettes.. the video was in a language I don't speak but it appeared to be russian or one of the eastern european countries. I searched everywhere but could never find the palette for sale.

I ended up mixing it and made my own pan. It is lovely and it just reminds me of the ocean. It was very easy to mix.

This color is so gorgeous!! I have it in my cart but can't buy it for another 2 weeks, I keep checking every day nervously to make sure it's still in stock. Also, love these little news updates you do!

Winsor & Newton added some of their limited edition colors to their line of watercolors but I think Schmincke will not do that..
I would be happy if they do that. They came up with these granulating colors and I think some of them fit really well into their regular line of watercolors. But I think these colors will stay just a limited edition. It's a shame somehow...

Maybe one could mix it with the pigments PG50 cobalt turquoise, PB29 ultramarine and Lamp black. I might try a Mars and compare both but Mars is more granulating. I called Blick’s too and haven’t heard. Thanks Eve it really is gorgeous!!

Meh. I’m not enthused. Then again, I’m more into bright colors. And yellow ochre. Love yellow ochre. It’s a similar color to my new pair of pants though….
