That Elvis impersonation was crazy good

The amazing thing about this recording is that it charted twice - nearly thirty years apart (1961 and 1989), making it both his first and last popular single.

New Year's Eve has never been the same without a bit of Andy

During the chorus of "Donald Where's Your Troosers" he would sometimes flash the audience, altering the lyrics to "Ha, ha, ha, now you know" which naturally caused complete pandemonium.

You know this was written by a Scot because no non-Scottish person will describe a highlander as "not very big and awfully shy".

Edit: Guys, I'm not Scottish, I am literally from Bangladesh, I just made this comment because it was genuinely the first time I encountered a Scottish character who wasn't all rough and tough. I'm sorry I got my highlanders and Islanders confused😅, I thought everything that was in the North was considered highlands whether they were islands or not.

Andy was very popular with this song on new years eve  and was missed by many English people who appreciated his Scottish words about a Kilt apposed to trousers, which would be a pleasure even for and English man to  wear at the Edinburgh games every year.

Being from Glesga, I grew up with this song and others by Andy, he was a superstar in Scotland, everywhere else was playing the beatles and stones, we were playing Andy and Moira Anderson, Kenneth Mc keller, Francie and Josie and Stanley Baxter were the Superstars, I have never seen anything so funny as Francie and Josie, my name is Francis and everybody called me Francie, find memories, early sixties.

Ah, the highlands! Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous!

I say this because it appears that there are 19 sheep about.

Back in '73, we were in port with HMS Protecteur. We had a cookout, and a sing along. You should have seen the look on the Brits faces, when I sang this song!!!The follow up was The Drunken Scotsman. "Well lad I don't know where you've been, but I see you won first prize". =Stefan=
