I read the Caraval series two years ago and it has always been my absolute favourite and Stephanie Garber is my favourite author, I’m halfway through Once Upon a Broken Heart and I’m loving it even more than Caraval which thoroughly surprised me but I could not be happier that I bought the second book prior!

literally the second I saw the City of Bones (and then Clockwork Angel) 10th anniversary editions at the shops I bought them, I couldn't walk away without it. It was my comfort series when I was younger, I still have a shelf dedicated to the shadowhunter-verse.

I feel like no one wants to read the Caraval series and it makes me sad🤣 Like Caraval the book is defo not the best in the series but Legendary and Finale are fantastic and you gain such a better understanding of Jacks as a character which I think enhances the reading experience of Once Upon a Broken Heart so much more! Donatella is such a babe and it makes me sad that so many people aren’t getting the chance to know her :/

I know you loved Evelyn Hugo and City of Girls, so if you’re looking for something similar I highly recommend The Show Girl by Nicola Harrison! It’s very glamorous and set in a similar time period. The main character is a talented dancer/singer and she does shows on stage. It’s super fun and there’s a love story involved. I think you would really like it! 🥰

If I'm being honest, I have read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series first without the intention of reading Caraval. Girl was I wrong! I loved it even more and it's one of my favourite series now! I'd definitely give it a try

I just finished This Woven Kingdom and loved it!!! It's a little harder to tead than Shatter Me but soooo good!! 😊

I read dance of thieves dueology first, and then read the remnant chronicles after and totally wish I would have read TRC first! DoT takes place like 7-8 years after the events in TRC and some of the characters in TRC are in DoT and so if you like character focus books, it might hit a little harder in the feels. And it helps understand more so the light magic that is in it ☺️ hope that helps!

For dance of thieves - the ending of the kiss of deception series will be spoiled if you read this series first. I also think the kiss of deception tripling is better!
