The simple truth here is the victims and their families are owed accountability and they got it when the shooter was tried and convicted. This man is NOT responsible for the deaths of the children. Plain and simple.

I think the point this grieving father made is very important. Just quietly leave.

I guess I can't put myself in his shoes. As a 73 year old man, I raised 5 children, have 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, and haven't had to suffer through the loss of any of them, thank God. But I can imagine the pain he is feeling, and can understand his anger. I can only hope that I pass before having to bury one of my own.

I'm sure his son was an amazing kid. A man filled with dignity and justice. Very heartbroken but he is one of the strongest men I've ever seen

No one should be celebrating...this is a tragedy on all accounts. I agree with the father. No celebration here

If there had just been a brave guy with a gun that day. Instead of a coward with a gun.

Being QUIET & HUMBLE was my thoughts exactly sir!! The resource officer& lawyer display & speech was disrespectful, cowardly and tone deaf in my opinion

A JURY FOUND THIS MAN NOT GUILTY.
UNLESS YOU WATCHED THE WHOLE TRIAL AND SAW ALL THE FACTS - YOU ARE WRONG TO BLAME HIM FOR THIS TRAGEDY. THE MONSTER IS THE SHOOTER - NOT THIS OFFICER.

If you really want someone to blame you really need to look at the parents of Nicholas Cruz. This all started at home with how he was raised.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is not to sell him a gun in the first place!

S.P. ...he stayed outside, he didn't even try to confront the shooter and draw the shooter's attention. Away from the children and teachers.

Scot Peterson and his family's reaction was so inappropriate. I'm so sorry for your loss Mr. Oliver.

If the kids, teachers, and administrators go through the “drills” what does the SRO do - what kind of training does he get.

I can’t imagine what the family and friends of these victims are going through and have gone through! But I also can’t imagine what it would be like to be a first responder in the situation. I would hope my training would kick in and I would do my job, but you never know what you’re going to do in a situation like that, how you’re going to react, and if you’re able to react or not. So we don’t celebrate him as a hero, but should we condemn him like a murderer? I don’t know if I have the answers. I’m not sure what I would do in that circumstance. you don’t think this guy feels guilt about his in action? He’s gonna live with that the rest of his life. I’m mad at the shooter, I’m mad at the people who claimed these shootings were fake or false flags, I am mad at the politicians, who refuse to do anything to protect children in school or any of us.

Its not only the 17 families whose lives were lost, it's all those who were shot up and now have to live with the nightmare of Parkland for the rest of their days with the permanent scars mentally and physically. Who is to say how many lives this officer could have saved, the sad part he didn't even try. The only thing I see him crying for is himself, but this wasn't justice.

If you can't handle the job don't do it. He could have stopped many children from being killed. There is an oath to protect and serve.
