I've stopped using limiters since I realized how destructive they can be to the sound. I've seen a few mastering engineers simply clipping their AD converters using something like the clip guard on Dangerous Convert AD+ - maybe limiters are not cutting it anymore?

B has slightly more low-end, and punchier transients. So probably B is -14, depends on the limiting but most software limiters take away transients don't enhance them.

It really does depend on what song you're mixing, and how much compression you use before the limiter. It's a choice if you want to follow Spotify's tips or what sounds best for the song. Either of them is right.

A is -8, B -14. A sounds more compressed, or rather limited. While it may not be as punchy as B I like how the sub and lows surround everything more, and everything is kind of glued more. Both can work with this song but my preference would be A which I believe is the more limited one at -8.

I prefer A, sounds like its breathing a little more. My guess would be that A is the -14 version since I felt a bit more depth.
im not in the studio though, im using an 8$ converter and logitech 2.1 speakers at home.

I like B. I just like the smashed sound. The -14 is probably the more transparent mix so I’m sure that would be the one widely wanted.

A sounds nicer for this song. I think B is -8 LUFS because of the kick (sharpness not necessarily the kick). It depends on the song I think.

A -14 B -8. B sounds a bit brighter to me, which I attribute to the limiter squash.

Yeah I think B most defo has more of a soundstage, with more clarity. A sounds a little squashed. But hey its all down to taste in the end anyway :)

A sounds more muddy like the bass and kick taking too much space all the time and the reverb less larger, the voice insn't detached and the lows get bitten by the bass. The B as the kick more punchy and all the details in the high and in the voice has more "air".
So i would say : A -8Lu B -14Lu

Congrats for the 50k achievement! I think B is -8 (more saturated) while A is a bit cleaner and "breathy" is -14 for me...

I believe integrated loudness is much more important rather than short-term loudness. So the overly dynamic tracks will sound weirdly quiet in the soft parts while listening on the car system or earbuds in the public
