Sustain the Industry August 2016: Manga Haul!

Oh... the video is on time!! Although, truth be told there was more I wanted to do for this video but I just couldn't manage so it didn't exactly turn out how I had hoped but ah well... I even forgot to show off the really cool Viz Media coin I got from Rightstuf as part of Viz's 30th anniversary, but it's really dope and I'm planning on snagging another one.

Smaller haul this time around. Only a few series and volumes and this just might be my smallest and shortest haul video I've ever done, but hopefully you all still enjoy it. I still worked hard on it as I do with all of my haul videos! Definitely let me know your thoughts and pickups in the comments below!

YES! LOVE Hikaru no Go! I can't recommend it enough. I re-read (and re-watch) it every year. I'm always impressed how subtly the characters age by the end... Obata is a genius!

Awesome haul as always! :)
I'm also a huge fan of Takeshi Obata's art. It's just so unique with the soft lines and realistic-looking characters.
And Hikaru no Go is one of my favorites among his works (well, his and Yumi Hotta's). The Go terms they used were quite confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's kind of fun. I really like how the story just draws you in and the character development's wonderful, too. I wish more people will check out the series...

Oh and may I also recommend Bakuman? It's illustrated by Takeshi Obata while the story was written by Tsugumi Ohba (same person who wrote Death Note). But unlike Death Note, it's more of a light-hearted slice-of-life story about two guys aiming to be comic book creators/manga-kas. It's great, too!

I've always planned on picking up Hikaru No Go, it'll happen eventually! Nice pickups, short & sweet this month--but I definitely feel you, August has been a rough month financially. Also loving Ten Ten's theme in the background haha let people say what they will about the Naruto anime, but the soundtrack/score to it is just fantastic!

Twin Star Exorcists Anime put some filler content, so I could not stand to watch it past episode 13, but the manga keeps on getting better. Also Subbed back!
