I still remember my one and only time in prison as a youngster having a good talking with myself on that prison yard, and as I walked the track, tears flowing from my eyes, Ide wipe away slick like as if I was sweating and telling myself that " this is not he life for you" cause I saw how, to many it was like ( meant to be ) and since many were enamored, almost needy, dependent and to some even hopelessly institutional to the max! I knew GOD had something better! And although life's been hell since 1996 when paroled from Folsom, i still consider it way better than prison!

Johnny's best songs were prison songs, he saw the world though eyes of a prisoner and there is nothing more real or painful than having no freedom, which us prisoners know best. Recall one of the prisoners in documentary saying 'our only crime is beeing born poor...' Go figure who's in jail these days, surely not the rich, politicians or bankers... Johnny knew about injustice that remains to this day.

Thank God. Teach a man a trade and treat them humanly. A blessing to see and an answer to prayer.

Absolutely heartbreaking how little Johnny Cash’s attempts are reform actually got. If anything prisons are worse than ever focusing on punishment more than rehabilitation.

50 years later prison STILL isn't fun? Dang, I guess I'd better not break the law.

They forgot to ad that Gordon Jenkins sued Cash for plagiarism and violation of copyright law for Folsom Prison Blues, and won. Cash had to pay near $100k. The song was a rewrite of Jenkins' Crescent City Blues . .. . Jenkins let it go until it became a hit in 1968, and then he sued Cash, for his due.

Honestly if I had a business I would totally hire felons why? Cause nobody else does, that’s free PR which means more media and people wanting to come to do business with me and other business following that path.
