FPV Review: The MiniRaceWing, part 2

Now I've corrected my assembly mistake in putting the MiniRaceWing together, I back to fly it in anger... how will it perform ?

The answer is: great, but launching it is going to need some work. A combination of quite a heavy wing with a small prop means you need to get some speed in the throw, but you need to watch your release in case you go a bit twisty... like I did.

However, after sticking it into the ground multiple times, it still looks new.... It's me-proof !

For the other things I'm using (some affiliate links used) I've gone for -

I'll be back in a follow up when I work out completely where I'm going wrong in the launches, and perhaps a different HD camera. After a quick check, the Mobius Mini is just the right length so it shouldn't stick out from the camera plate.

Thanks for the continuation on this wing ... very interesting.
Also note funny about not reading the instructions fully ... a running joke between my wife & I ...
Look forward to video #3 on this wing! Wonder if it could be equipped for long distance flying and what would be needed for that type of endeavor.

Nice Review! Here is a suggestion for the HD-Camera: You could use a wedge to angle the camera a bit down and get its tail over the battery to be abel to move the camera back.

I'm going to put a flight controller running inav on mine. I think the auto launch feature and the rth stuff will save me Nice video :)

Sorry to hear your camera copped it.
Could the take off difficulties be twisting after release as you spin rather than a straighter line the weight can carry travelling on?
I obviously don't speak the language of plank yet but considering a tinker with a little one maybe.

CurryKitten, I was also having trouble launching before my review of this out next week, I made a launcher that it just pushes of every time without crashing, I also went through one runcam without using this laucner due to full throttle into the ground :( but this improves the quality of launch if you have 20 mins to build it :)

Runcam split and then you can move the bat forward or even better bigger battery :)

You givin´the plane a spin while throwing. Like a disk. You have to get rid of that spinning movement. Try to think of a spear - more straight. I know, you shouldn´t hold it like a spear (with the danger of your hand in the prop). but you can also throw a wing with a different movement of the arm - more like a spear moving.
Keep your arm straight. Don´t toss it in the air with a "lazy" movement out of your hand, use your whole, straightened arm to move it. This is easier to achieve with a movement more over your head instead of around your body. Just be sure to let it go horizontally and not upwards.

Can u please mess around with the thrust angle and let me know how to properly change it.. it’s not as easy and just unscrewing the screws I tried that...
