Anyone who has followed Nikki's work and seen her in interviews will know she's a Swiftie. Nikki's said about 99 nice things about Taylor, yet the one bad thing she said got highlighted, out of context. I am including below the wider context of what Nikki said in that interview, and I'll bold the bits that got included in Miss Americana:

_"I love Blank Space, it's one of my favorite songs...it's THE best song. She's too good. _*_She's too skinny, it bothers me. All of her model friends._*_ You have to have a thigh gap to hang out with her. They screen all her model friends. _*_And it's just like, come on!_*_ Enough with the model friends. They can't be that great."_

Context is everything. If people saw the whole interview with Nikki, they would have known that the catty comments she made were said out of envy and a desire to be friends with Taylor, whose music Nikki admires. They were not said out of hate for Taylor. Nevertheless, Nikki didn't complain about being taken out of context, and apologized fully for her comments, yet some Swifties still hate on her.

Not blaming Taylor for any of this neither, just to be clear. I love Taylor. I very much doubt she inserted the clip of Nikki into Miss Americana. Most likely the filmmakers and their researchers were responsible for finding & editing clips of people talking crap about Taylor.
