My K&N drop in filter works just fine. I keep it cleaned regularly. Why do so many people hate on the K&N drop in filter?

Cooler air is better yes. But at the same time, the way i look at it, once the air hits the turbo its going to heat up. I personally would prefer the Donaldson filter (same as 6637 but repels water) and make a "Ram Air" or "air scoop" to suck in air from outside.

so the filter was sitting fener height at first then the last picture its sitting way lower. What did you do to get it dropped the extra 4inches because mo e won't clear the hood.

Yes. it will. I wouldnt suggest getting the 6637 filter though, i would get a Donaldson filter. The only difference in them, and i mean ONLY difference, is the Donaldson is hydrophobic. it repels water. Some say the 6637 Filter does, but idk. Either way, the 6637 from Napa (6637 is part number) is a WIX filter, which is still a great filter. Im an OBS guy too.

I agree with Buhlzl, cooler air is better. I bought a Banks air filter box that draws from the fender well and the normal area of the grill.Not that there is a problem with what you did its just that the cooler the air the better she will run for you.

You would need a 4" O.D. pipe. the inlet of the filter is 4"

So what do you have to do with the sensor when you install the filter if you don't plug it in anywhere,

No offense but I'd opt for the AFE filter. The AFE filter comes with its own air box that pulls air from outside the engine compartment. Cooler air is better.

How many miles do you think you will get out of the filter before changing it?

My filter has a terrible fit. It likes to hit against these metal brackets on the right of the battery so it sits up a little. Does it really matter?

I notice your battery cables have the newer style terminal clamps.  Where did you get those battery cables?  Are they custom made?
