Found a bunch of old family records with recordings that are rare and hard to find. I haven't been able to find this album in CD or mp3 format anywhere so I am currently in the process of converting the album from vinyl record to mp3s. Among these songs is the rare live-recording of Gabby Pahinui's "Livin' On Easy" which they play on the radio stations here in Hawai'i.

You can not only hear but also feel the backyard party atmosphere in this version of the song which is what I believe makes this track so special. Also take notice in the beginning to the folks in the crowd yelling, "WAIMANALO!" in reference to Gabby's residence.
I hope you enjoy this party song as much as my 'ohana does!

All rights go to the artists and Panini Records.

Doing this fo' da keiki! (Doing this for the kids.)

Awesome song! Gabby's voice even sounds a bit younger. Never seen this album in my searches in Hawaii and will see if any of the shops in Portland have it. Thanks for sharing.

What is even more important is that this album has the only known recording of Uncle Fred Punahoa. (Led Kaapana's uncle and his slack key teacher).
