how about we do something about rent that goes up $thousands overnight leaving us with literally no place to live. that would be good huh? since the market blew up we can't buy, if we could buy we can't afford insurance, if we can't buy we have to rent, then rent quadruples overnight and we can't rent. why is Florida paradise?

If you have paid off your mortgage simply drop the insurance. Put money in a savings account and just pay to fix damage. Most likely you will never need it. Big plus the money is still yours.

Increase in home insurance isnt just in Florida. It is all over . My personal home insurance and property tax went up thus my monthly home payment has increased

Insurance companies need to sue the builder's if they are ripping everyone off

True why do we have to pay for the insurance compaines paying out for everything a lot is bogus claims just to get something new rather than normal maintenance by the homeowners. Its too is the fault of the Insurance comaines for not fighting the claims that are over inflated and work not needed because they don't want to pay attorneys fees to fight them. Maybe if they would have fought the way their suppose to this wouldn't have happened.

Florida sucks today nore than ever as the politicians go home and we pay their salaries so they can afford to live here at plush places and eat while they could care less and less about its constituents

People keep building in areas with hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires, etc and insurance is tired of rebuilding over and over. In the Midwest, hail damage = a new roof, free from the insurance company.

That's a lie. Insurance companies are NOT going out of business. To the contrary. Insurance companies are in business to make money hand over fist and they do that by not paying claims and then raising rates. I should know, i worked for two insurance companies. Insurance is running this country and is one of the biggest scams out there. Over the past 30 years I have paid over $30, 000 in premiums. Never filed a claim yet my rates always increased.
