Hellofootball fans -welcome back to Goalside!

Are you a fan of the MLS, or do you at least follow its fixtures and results? If not, then perhaps you may still think that it is a type of “farmer’s league” as some used to call it, or simply the place where players about to retire have a couple of well-paid seasons for the fun of it.
This, friends and subscribers of Goalside, has changed greatly.Gone are the days of watching Major League Soccer matches because nothing else was on TV. Gone are the days where MLS stars looked to escape the United States and Canada, desperate to find a spot in just about any team in Europe. Those days are the past

Such a damn shame and it pains me that Vela never fulfilled his potential. If he was passionate he could have been a completely different player. Just look at his filthy goals for Arsenal and Sociedad. For crying out loud even Griezmann said Vela is one of the most talented players he ever played with. Crazy considering he's played on teams like France, Barca, and Atleti.

Carlos Vela from 2008-2016 was the best NORTH AMERICAN player hands down.
Video downplays Vela's impact on Real Sociedad, people forget that Real Sociedad was joke in LA LIGA. Vela turned that team into a top 5 team by himself before Griezman. Theres plenty of videos of him breaking ankles on Argentenian playeres like Otamendi, Pezzella.

Had Carlos Vela been born in Argentina or Spain, he would have dam well been a starter for their national teams and would have been playing in Barca or RM.

So amazed at how OSORIO did not build the National team around Vela. He had the keys to a ferrari and instead crashed and burned. OMG could you have imagined how deadly the TRI attack would have been with a 4-3-3 .. R, Lozano, L, Vela, M, Pizaro helming one of the most deadliest offenses in 2018. But instead we got Trunco Jimenez and Chicharito.
No wonder Vela didn't come back.
Good luck to Pulsic...

my guy played 29 games and scored 3 in two years at arsenal. in 64 games on loan between 2005-2012 n scored 25. 28 goals in 7 years. he did alright in spain but then is playing against shocking defenders.

You just can't blame Carlos Vela for not making it at arsenal. The team had a star studded attack, even Robin van Persie had to wait a while to get regular game time. Nonetheless Vela was and is still a fan favorite at the Emirates.

I’ll be completely honest. He had genuine potential at under 17level, still decent potential at around 20 years of age, then he completely flopped. Do not try and compare a flop such as vela to any player who has made their name in Europe. The fact that some yanks compared Zlatan to this lad is a disgrace. Saying vela is even remotely world class is pathetic, and someone who never fulfilled their potential such as Alexander Pato should receive more praise than vela. vela scored A FEW goals for the clubs he played at (excluding mls), with a very bad goal to game ratio. Pato was scoring chip goals from kick off v Barca in champions league knock outs, yet still vela is considered better. Also, that tactical analysis of how he scores goals in the mls is pathetic. You went on an hour long tangent (yes Ik a but hypocritical as I’m going on one) about how he would cut inside past the full back, like stfu. All u has to say was he played a similar role to the role Messi currently plays, quite simple. Tbh, the fact that I’m even mentioning vela and Messi’s play style as similar makes me sick, and I don’t even like Barca. Anyway, mls is shit, always has been, always will be. Gg
