What is the meaning of differentiation?

we generally define differentiation as the ratio of change in y variable with respect to x variable or as the ratio of ratio change in dependent variable with respect to independent.Many students know how to find derivative of y but they do not what is the meaning of derivative or what is #differentiation.
In this video we gonna learn about #differentiation using a simple example.We use differentiation while deriving a formula in calculus or while calculating the change in one variable w.r.t. other quantity.In engineering we find calculus as the basic tool to solve most of the problems, so differentiation is not only a theoretical operator but we find many uses of differentiation in daily life too. dy/dx is known as the first derivative and there are separate formulae to calculate dy/dx for various functions of y

I did my first year science in national college bandra in 1958 and thus is what we were taught, but I always naturally liked maths and in intermediate we had more maths, I scored 60% got into Eng in 1960 I college of Eng Karad in 1963 I did mech un 1964 I did electric, journey was long but not arduous boring tiring taxing but I enjoyed, u can see I still enjoy it and do maths exercise always couple of hours, maths is freshening relaxing rejuvenating, I hope it is for u too

3.00001 square is 9.00006 and 4.00001 square is 16.00008, therefore dy/dx value will be 6 and 8 there is the correction, try this, with various values different functions like 2x^3 or x^5 and check it out.
