The fling controller work excellent on the ipad and using the Drone Ace app
also the 60 Beat game controller makes it so much easier to fly like an actual RC quad

We did donate one to the firefighters!

Thumbs UP! I am sure they can use it both for playing with it while on alert at base or on emergency locations.

The indoor hull is meant to be used indoors. This was pilot error due to the incorrect hull choice. The outdoor hull is perfect outside, and the machine is a stable platform for video and pictures. I like flying mine. It is challenging to master, but it is well designed, and crash proof, but you can buy inexpensive spare parts.

Yes the flips are much more locked in with the new freeflight
Seems to have fixed the flip crash problem

Was thinking the same thing. This could be a great tool for Rescue.

Yes we discussed this with the firefighters - but please remember the AR.Drone is a a toy.

In the beginning the girl almost punches the guy in the middle :D
You can donate an AR.Drone for the firefighter. They could send it to places where they get hard or use it as a forward camera, searching, etc.

It did survive - as you see when the firefighters fly it.

Nice of them to get it down for you, I imagine they did not have to.
The company should donate one to the fire department, they would be good for safety if you used it to look at a burning building to see how bad it is from up above.

Im surprised that it survived that impact of the sign. My just barely touched a tree and the indoor hull broke in two....

A Draganflyer would be better and is already in use for Police, Fire and Rescue. The Dragan can be fitted with a thermal infrared video camera that can pinpoint hot spots and people in the dark.

Nice that these guys helped out. But I am surprised the fire department does not provide or didn't use a non-conductive ladder on the electrical bill board and a hard hat with chin strap while rescuing the drone.

What this video conveys to me is that:

1. Even PARROT can’t drive their product without crashing it
2. It’s not a good idea to try and fly over something tall, cause if you mess up, you’re in for a world of trouble
3. There is no practical use for this product for firefighters
4. Las Vegas looks warm
5. Parrot is still horrible at Marketing

and parrot doesn't recommend flying the drone outdoors with the indoor hull... it's in the quick start guide... but the contnue to show videos of it configured this way... :-/

Still don't know why people haven't already done this...
I wonder if the military will use it or is already using something like it.

It made for a great promotional video and had a real emergency occurred during that time they would of been notified by radio and sped off to respond. My hopes are they gave the drone and iPad to the crew for their effort in retrieving it. Give the crew something to play with during their downtime.
