This is exactly what I did with my electric skateboard. Double the capacity for the long runs, keep it light for the short runs. Thanks for sharing your progress, my master is arriving soon, and I'll probably be following in your footsteps if I can get a deal on the battery packs! For now I have the fast charger on order.

Hey Roger. Is it easy to just upgrade the batteries like this for the master? Will it explode? Kinda concerned about the motherboard and etc since the new Master pro has a bigger battery and more safety.

After your wiring/plug/socket mods you can still switch back to 4 packs as per factory standard? Also did you have to make any other mods apart from the extra plugs?

I have the Master 50e cells, I guess 60 miles range 25-30mph. Molicels maybe 50 miles. However my thought was build a 15A charger into the seat and in 1.5hr plus (with the Molicels) you could be good to go again. 100 miles total (but with the extra punch if you want it). That's out and back providing you can charge. Just a thought I stick with the 60 miles I think :-)
