North Carolina colleges GO NUCLEAR, fire DEI staff, CANCEL PRONOUNS and all DIVERSITY STATEMENTS!

The University of North Carolina System voted 22 to 2 to repeal its DEI policy and replace it with one called “Equality Within the University of North Carolina,” which does not mention race at all and enshrines commitments to nondiscrimination, viewpoint equality and freedom of expression. It also includes a clause on “maintaining institutional neutrality,” which requires university employees—staff, not faculty—to refrain from voicing opinions on “social policy” or “political controversies of the day.” Campus leaders are required to report their compliance plans to system officials by Sept. 1.

As a North Carolinian, this is excellent news to hear! At 45, I'm long past my college years. But it's been torture to watch my niece and nephews get brain washed by DEI mess. They're biracial and given plenty of opportunities I never was, yet they all believe themselves to be "victims." Two of them are now in jail for their actions.

Now if only we can ban teacher unions as well. There are already rules and standards in place for teachers. Unions are in no way needed. Just enforce the rules and standards. Unions only fill the pockets of those in charge of the unions, while also keeping terrible teachers in schools with no punishment. Unions lead to the entire DEI nightmare and the only ones suffering are our children!

I spent seven years on campus as a student and many years on campus as an official at a major university. Students don't need special spaces or set aside communities. College students have never had difficulty forming communities on their own, regardless of what others may feel about it. Like minded students will find each other and create a space for themselves. There is no policy intervention needed. This has been going on since the days of Socrates and likely even before. Universities should be promoting academic achievement and rewarding merit, not difference for difference sakes.
