Some of this is good advice, but your most important criteria should be a "responsive, TRUE Fiduciary Advisor with REAL financial acumen" obligated to get you the biggest bang for the buck:
Per research by Tony Robbins, 90% of the 310, 000 "advisors" are brokers, often trying to get the biggest bang for their firm, so you lose. Only 10% are Fiduciaries. But it gets worse, most Fiduciaries (RIA) are dually registered: both a Fiduciary AND a Broker, and they can switch at will. Given two identical investments available, but one has 2% more cost (often hidden), a TRUE fiduciary must recommend the one with the lower fees because that provides clients 2% higher returns which in turn can mean twice as much in retirement. A responsive, TRUE Fiduciary with real acumen is your best choice every time!
