I love the way she twists it because traditionally Albatrosses are considered bad omens by sailors, but Albatrosses are also extremely loyal to their mates. She flips it from, “this is what the outside world sees me as, an omen of destruction, they think I’ll ruin your life so they’re telling you to stay away, but really, if you let me, I’ll love you to the end.”

the way she slipped in with the folklore of albatross being an ill-omen to sailors. taylor is portraying herself as the bird symboling shame and unpleasantness as some medias would paint her. albatross never touch land for some years and maybe it tells us that she will never give in to the constant harshness of reality over the years? thats what i think
