I always like the buyers who think that they can get the foreclosed property at a smoking deal. Typically that is not true. The price sometimes may be higher to cover the shortage.

Important to understand - too many people assume that they will pick up a home at a good deal. Definitely is worth the price of the inspection (even if the banks won't repair) so you know what you are getting yourself into before closing on the deal.

I totally agree with you, there is a serious misconception and hype regarding buying a foreclosure. Plus, they do not like low-balling buyers, so don't do it.
