Fooey on this. No, it isn't as accurate as my Fluke & Beckman meters but I don't expect it to be. I bought this meter somewhere in California in order to help self-repair my car during a cross-country trip in 2012. I had embarked on said journey and forgotten my toolbox (gasp!) so I had to buy tools on the road.

This little meter did that job well and it has been in one of my toolboxes since then. Always works whenever I need, is reasonably accurate, and it is rugged enough. I'm confident that I got very good value for my money.

I've had the same model for about 6 years, been dropped numerous times, stepped on once, and just thrown in a toolbag for use doing mobile auto repair and it still works perfectly, battery is finally needing replacement but was worth twice as much as I paid for it. It's helped me make a lot of money and is actually my favorite little multimeter for testing automotive charging systems.

Yeah, it actually has a continuity setting. Its the solid triangle with a vertical line to the right of it. The symbol is on the bottom right next to the ohms settings. No sound but its there.

Have had this for 10+ years. Can’t get a reading on AC when I try and test body voltage. (Touching red while black is grounded). Any reason why?

The diode test is used for continuity also.

Thanks for the video. I’ve had mine, this exact model, for 10 years or so. Haven’t even changed out the 9v yet and I’ve put it to fairly good use. 2.5 seems harsh, due to its ability to take a beating, but having no continuity feature is definitely a setback. All in all, it’s kept me alive many times over. Great review

Thanx but I needed to know how to use it on my broken fan that I was trying to see what I broke when it snapped. inside so I’m going to guess I needed continuity to find out where I ran of power?right? It’s not a diagnostic tool is it?so I’m going to throw out the broken fan instead of trying to fix it you saved. Me a half day of frustration thanx

Set the meter to 20k+ ohms to test for continuity, if it's zeros out, you have continuity. Your welcome

Does not do contiuity, that's what I wanted to know.

Is this better than the everstart value multimeter from.Wal-Mart

So this is better build quality than the INNOVA 3300a CHEAP-O Multimeter. Need one in hurry and Autozone has this model and advance the cheaper version.

This review is too harsh. I have used this multimeter for more than 10 years and it still works great. I wonder what the reviewer based his rating on, considering he tested it against multimeters several times its price and found it very accurate. The only negative things he mentioned was the dial feeling too soft with no clicking (a very subjective judgment, I actually like it that way), and the lack of continuity. This feature of modern multimeters is a favorite peeve of mine. Having grown up with the analog multimeters of the 1970's I still have to understand why people can't test for unbroken electrical connections using the ohmmeter feature. This continuity thing is such an inessential feature. I never felt the need for it.

Got to say that it pretty accurate for 20$

Thanks for posting. Sir, question. When I change it to 1.5, or 9v For Battery Load Test, I get no reading. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks!

I respectfully disagree with the 2.5 star rating. I don't care at all about the continuity test. It has a 200 ohm scale that works just fine for that. Would to be nice to have a beeper that allows you to test continuity without looking at the display? Sure - but that's a very minor concern to me. A backlight would also be nice as would a "prop stand". My 3306 has very distinct "clicks" for the function selector, and the accuracy compared to more expensive meters is reasonably good. Better probes would also be nice, but they're readily available if that's important to you. For a cheap meter, I think it's very good. FWIW, I'm an electrical engineer and I use Fluke handheld and Fluke and Agilent bench meters daily, along with a whole slew of other test equipment. Are these as good as those? Nope - but I don't take those with me every where I go. This one goes wherever I go and gets used nearly every day. The small size is a plus for this. You have to give up something for a cheap meter. I think this one makes very reasonable tradeoffs vs cost. I personally would probably give it 3.5 stars.

So since the Innova's rating was closer to the power rating you were switching to, wouldn't it be more accurate than the other 2?
LOL

The reviewer says this meter does not read continuity. This meter clearly has a continuity symbol. I have one and the continuity function works fine. GARBAGE REVIEW.
