I ve bought 13 ft float rod. Its great. Looks fantastic, very reliable, strong build rod. Its like power waggler, great for carp and tench, great for loafer fishing on river. Catches even roach without problem. But little difference, my has name "specialist float", not "barbel float". Hmmmm, strange.

Looks identical to the Fox Royale range of barbel rods. But not quite the same, the Eos blank is thicker and the joints are a bit suspect. Fit together as normal, the top section quickly works loose after 3 or 4 casts. To prevent this from happening, you really have to jam the sections together, the problem then is, it is really difficult to pull them apart. This has completely put me off buying Fox rods.

Used the 11 ft 1 3/4 4od to hit and hold an 18lb carp at very close range, and have caught several double figure barbel on them. Small chub and barbel- really? What has happened to rod test curves in the last 30 years? I don’t get it to be honest. Ps have had no problem with the rod joints.
