This Guitar Blew My Mind!

Robert Keeley of Keeley pedals recently loaned me his #fendercustomshop Thinline #telecaster and it absolutely blew my mind! The guitar is called a Fender Custom Shop Limited-edition Caballo Tono Ligero Relic - Aged Magenta Sparkle. There's a mouthful for ya haha!

Between the fantastic job Fender did on the guitar combined with the absolutely killer TV Jones pickups this guitar has left me feeling inspired ever since I put my hands on it!

I realize this guitar is out of most peoples reach when it comes to price but I would definitely say the pickups are a huge part of the sound and just saving up for a little will put the pickups within most peoples reach. Either way this guitar is fantastic! Well done Fender!

A sweet Tele with Gretsch pickups is exactly what I’m looking for currently. A thinline is just icing on the cake. That looks like a great guitar.

I have this guitar (CS Tono Caballo Ligerò Thinline) but in heavy-aged black nitro. It’s sick! Actually it has become my main gigging and recording guitar because it is SO darn versatile, and light, and comfortable, and the most amazing AAA flame maple neck, smooth as butter. It’s a 5-Star guitar for sure!

I’ve got a Squier Cabronita. It’s not a thin line, but it’s got the two gretsch pickups, one volume, no tone. It’s a killer guitar.

On my Michael Kelly t-style I replaced the Rockfield pickups with two Seymour Duncans - a Seth Lover in the bridge and an Antiquity II mini humbucker in the neck. Holy smokes this guitar sounds amazing now !! Huge difference.

Brett, your playing just keeps getting better and better! I could listen to you "fool around" all day, for hours, at least, lol.
Thanks for the tip 'bout the gee-tar, but...
I ain't got that kinda money, 'least not yet!
But, I agree, it sounds great! I'm a big P90 nut anyways. Those pups sound a lot like 'em, to me, anyway. Or at least they remind me of 'em.
Keep it up, my dude!
😎 👌👍 🤪

I always like your playing in these demos …..keith richards said “ its not how you play, its what you play “ … well you play super well and cool melodic stuff that i dig big time and its what inspires me to get better .

That guitar is awesome, to say the least !

It sounds very similiar to one of my scatter-wound PAF loaded Les Paul Standards...Same bell-like, punchy tone, just a little bit thinner. Not "brighter, ...just thinner.

Awesome guitar, Brett, and awesome playing. You are one of my favorite players out there.

I bought a gretch duo jet $399 model and a set of these pick ups and can tell you I swooned over this guitar for weeks and I have some very high dollar guitars … she holds her own and tv jones are magic !

That is such a stellar-sounding and utterly badass LOOKING guitar. The playing is pretty spectacular, too.

I feel the exact same way as you Brett, that guitar changes the way you think about Teles, the pickups and the neck are just top notch, then you add the magenta sparkle over black sparkle. Just an incredible guitar. Enjoy!!!

This guitar has been on my radar for quite a while now. Unfortunately it would take me at least two years to save every cent I can miss to buy this guitar, unless I sell a couple of other beautiful guitars. So I decided to pick up an old hobby again. I had some guitar parts lying around, I bought a cool vintage style Telecaster bridge with the routing for a Filtertron, I bought a set of compensated saddles, the exact same pickups as are on this guitar and I just made it my own fun little experiment. It doesn’t look anything like this beautiful guitar, but it sounds amazing, it has the best neck I could wish for and I gave it an army green color. I’m a happy man. 😬

Great demo Brett, they sound like 70s LP mini humbuckers. Love the tone. Cheers

I'm personally not a huge fan of the extra jumbo frets, but i think it's because i grew up around older 70's and 80's guitars with smaller ones.

Cool video! That's a sweet looking guitar and those pickups are awesome, but pretty sure that's mostly you. Nice playing as always
