I’m still having that same tired old glitch from 2013 where I’m cutting out from an image using the poly lasso tool and after selecting only a few points in, it closes out automatically by itself before I can even finish the cut

Rick what a mess... Cant you at least say how to complete the selection after you get marching ants, and extract that portion as a simple box/ diamond, whatever, taken out and saved for inserting in another photo or as a stand alone- without all the other details that go on forever.
