Think of all the insane conspiracy theories that sit on this platform and this gets taken down. To those responsible you are the best catalysts for change. You think you are covering it up but in reality you have done more to promote this film than anybody could.

To give you an idea of the stretching of the truth the doc mentions that Teslas and EVs use more aluminum, which needs more energy than steel. Teslas actually don't use much aluminum[7]. Well, yes more energy to produce a kilogram of aluminum than steel. Yes but 85% of the energy needed with aluminum is electricity, 15% is thermal energy produced by coal [1] . In Ontario electricity produces only 40 grams of CO2 per kWh, as opposed to coal which produces 960g per kWh.

A kilogram of aluminum needs 15kWh of electricity and 1.9kWh of thermal energy [2]. So in Ontario 15 kWh of electricity will produce 600 grams of CO2 [3]. The 1.9 kWh of thermal will produce 1824 grams of CO2 [4]. Total carbon footprint per kg of aluminium is 2.4kg of CO2.

Now steel need uses 3.75 kWh per kg produced[6]. All thermal energy via coal. So a carbon footprint of 12.96kg of CO2 per kilogram of steel.

But aluminum is less dense than steel, though you need more of it volumetrically to have the same structural strength as steel. Generally switching to aluminum results in a 25% weight reduction [5].

So the carbon footprint of a car made of aluminum instead of steel is actually about 86% less!

So to accuse EVs have being worse for the environment because it uses aluminum instead of steel is false. To state such because aluminum takes more energy than steel to produce (per kg) is deceptive to say the least.

Put together a hack job of a documentary with some footage taken 10 years ago and some even 15, cherry pick some of the worst cases of dodgy environmentalism and
slap Michael Moore's droney voice on it and you have a hit.

I did enjoy and learn a lot from this, but the elephant in the room in this documentary that is not talked about is....nuclear energy, but no, instead, too many humans, let's reduce our numbers.
