There is absolutely no way I could bring myself to do all that masking. I would end up in the loony bin. But it was a real treat to see it done. Wonderful build. Extremely well done!

I really like the honesty of your build, it is "perfect" but its not. You kept it real. Some of the YT builders are so pro that is a level the most of us will never reach. Well done sir 👌🏼

Delighted to see Derek. Figures seem to be a vanishing breed in many kits today, though Tamiya's sculpting is top notch.

Well done! Looks awesome and totally unique. You have a gift for shades, contrasts and textures. One of the most beautiful fighter jet even penned by men. Derek is a happy pilot.

Very impressive build. I've always had a love for the F16 ever since watching the Iron eagle movies back in the late 80's. The detailing on the pilot was amazing, definitely something to consider adding to future builds (if they are supplied).

Excellent Viper! For future F-16 builds...the LEFs (leading edge flaps) do not "droop" like the flaperons and horizontal stabilators do when hydraulic pressure is depleted. When on the ground, the LEFs should be at the 2 degrees up position. I wish Tamiya provided a bit more info regarding proper flight control positioning in the instructions.

Wow, what a paint Job. Your persistence definitely paid off. I think I’d have lost the plot even after just masking the tail. Seriously cool

Very nice job done there Sir! The only thing I'm missing is the ponytail of Captain Fiedler peeping out from the helmet 😊.

Stunning!! I've recently decided to do this scheme, and came across this video today. I'm not sure if I want to do 1:32 or 1:48 yet, however for the masking purposes, 1:32 looks like I'd have a larger area to work with, however, having been a modeler for nearly 40 years, I'm only about 4 years into my journey of building beyond brush painting testors little bottles and using the testors tube glue, so any minor mistakes in larger scale stand out like a sore thumb. Maybe I'll get the kit and decals and such while they're still widely available and hold onto them until I feel I'm ready. (I have a few kits I'm doing that with already.) If you had to do it again, what kind of solution would you have done to prevent the paint peel-off while unmasking the livery? Would a varnish coat over the dark grey base color before masking have made any difference? Or, perhaps a different type of primer that would allow the paint to grip on better?

Fantastic piece of work, looking forward to future builds. The rails don’t have a name as such and are usually just referred too as ejection seat guide rails from what I can tell.

Absolutly beautiful modeled F-16. Some very unpleasant person already told you something about the Slats. Slats on the F-16 are indeed never down when it sits on the ground. As a matter of fact - on the ground (standing still) the Slat are always 2° Up. Go look for pictures and you can clearly see this where the Slat intersects with fuselage strake. PS I was an F-16 CrewChief for a long time. Again - a great model

Looks great! Don't think I want to take on that crazy maze of masking though. . . .
