Saying that you need a building, like a gym, to train is akin to saying you need a building, like a church, to pray.

Sorry mate, but you're so far off the mark you've left the solar system. I've been a gym guy for almost 2 decades now and I have no clue what nonsense you're going on about for 80% of this video. All the strawman points you make sound like you're either projecting personal experience onto others or you're speaking from the perspective of an insecure teenager who has no knowledge or interest in health & fitness.

• Going to the gym cuts into your money-making time? That's not how Opportunity Cost works. The most successful people I know also happen to be in great physical shape. That's not a coincidence.
• Some tangent about dancing and aikido? And affairs magically happen? ....Huh?
• Something about "social cost." Is this video aimed at insecure teenage boys? Grown adults in the gym do not care about other grown adults in the gym.

At 5:14 you talk about comparing yourself to others. I'm genuinely sorry you feel that way. That is not as common as you make it seem. My theory (and concern) is that you go to a very shitty gym full of very shitty people.

Please don't make societal mountains out of statistical mole hills. Every negative example you gave only applies to the most insecure, addictive, emotionally unstable people. of people are not ruining their lives just so they can attend more aikido classes or tango dance lessons.

You seem like a genuinely nice guy, and I respect the effort you put into this video. That said, you're living in the shadow of monoliths never built. This is the exact reason I've stopped saying "go to the gym" and now use the term "exercise regularly" instead. The gym is not this "Toxic Bro Cult" that you frame it as.

Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I've consistently got lucky for ~18 years straight. Maybe it's pure coincidence that everyone I've met at any gym or fitness center has been polite, friendly, and supportive.

All that said, still a good video. Well put together and well spoken.
